The Legion of Frontiersmen has a very unique and proud history. Since its original formation as a semi-Paramilitary organisation in 1904, Frontiersmen have served their country or supported other nations when called upon to do so, providing a vast array of services. The Legion of Frontiersmen is an unarmed, non-political organisation, although many Frontiersmen have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the name of the Legion and freedom. Today the Independent Overseas Command is still based upon the British Military concept of command and formation. Frontiersmen must maintain their own personal fitness, attend training and provide their own uniforms, which are in accordance with the Legion’s Dress Regulations.

If you are interested in joining us, or finding out more information about how you can serve your country or community, including in times of disaster, please do not hesitate in contacting us.

The Independent Overseas Command has established commands of Frontiersmen throughout the world. Many are trained to specialist skills level and are formed into teams for Emergency Response and Air Sea Rescue, whilst others are trained as Airborne Paramedics. In many of our commands Frontiersmen are trained horsemen, or as members of local marching bands. The Independent Overseas Command has a Ceremonial Pipe and Drum Band with various mounted Honour Guards.

Whatever your interest is,you will find the Independent Overseas Command of the Legion of Frontiersmen has something for you. All we ask is that you have a commitment to serving your fellow man and the environment.
